Summary Objective

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting loans in accordance with the company's policy and risk appetite while maintaining focus on risk tolerance, growth, and profitability objectives. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, sound judgement and attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex information to assess credit risk, create appropriate loan structures, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, credit policy/ procedures, in an effort to mitigate loss, delinquency and overall risk.

What You'll Do

• Underwrite loans in accordance to company's policy and procedures
• Analyze application data including financial statements, bank statements, tax returns and business and personal credit reports
• Determine Credit worthiness and structure loans within established guidelines and expectations
• Coach and train junior underwriters while providing feedback and guidance to maintain consistency across the team
  What We Look For
  
  • 4 years of Underwriting experience working in a commercial underwriting role at a fintech/bank/financial institution- Small Business Lending preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in finance or accounting preferred
  • Solid credit fundamentals in a commercial environment. Formal credit training a plus
  • Strong analytical and intuitive/judgmental skills
