We recently surpassed $1.5 billion in assets and are experiencing record-breaking performance results. Our future is bright with promise! POSITION SUMMARY Receives members in person and by telephone. Serves as a primary source of information on membership eligibility and requirements, and Credit Union products and services. Responsible for opening new memberships, processing consumer loans, cross-selling CU products and providing the highest quality of service to our members. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control Provides excellent member service, carrying out the member service standards with each member. Provides assistance to new and existing members with regard to all Credit Union products and services (includes all deposit products, lending products and investment opportunities available). Cross-services additional loans and ancillary products to help meet member financial needs and assigned cross-servicing goals Processes consumer loans based upon Credit Union loan policy or credit granting criteria Possesses thorough knowledge of Credit Union loan policies, regulations, credit granting criteria, documentation required for each loan type, including DMV and ancillary products. Is skilled in personal and telephone interviewing techniques; including the ability to discuss loan denials, loan alternatives, interest rates, and to respond to member inquiries and requests (i.e., loan payments, loan amount qualifications, quoting loan payoffs). Has a full understanding of interest rates and how they are computed. Recommends alterations or revisions to department policies and procedures as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor or Branch Manager. Qualifications Must have two years financial institution experience in consumer lending processing and funding capacity, consumer loan officer background is a plus. Must possess a broad knowledge of financial products and services Ability to communicate effectively with members, assessing member needs and determining which financial service best satisfies those needs Knowledge of credit fundamentals, strong cross-servicing skills, and able to handle a high volume of work Must demonstrate flexibility in taking advantage of internal and external resources available Must be proficient in the use of a PC with Windows-based programs Knowledge in 1st mortgage and HELOC loans is preferred. Ability to speak fluently in Spanish is a plus.
