Job Description:

The Office of Development is one of higher education's premier fundraising organizations, raising over $1.3 billion annually in support of Stanford. The Development Services (DS) department within the Office of Development is responsible for processing all donations, over 100,000 transactions annually, and managing the database that includes over 1 million records with information for donors, alumni, and friends of the University.Reporting to the Biographic Services manager, this position is responsible for the review, gathering and processing a high volume of biographical data from source documents into a database system. The responsibilities include analyzing, monitoring, and verifying entries for accuracy and completeness to maintain data integrity and data hygiene.Through a solid background of relevant education and experience, the ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate an extraordinary attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to perform work independently within general guidelines.

  • Accurately enter high volume data from emails, data sheets or charts into databases and/or manual filing system using specific, standard instructions.
  • Assist with high volume data collection, data repository conversions and system adjustments.
  • Identify and remedy data integrity issues and errors.
  • Determine appropriate action to be taken for duplicate, inaccurate, or unclear information.
  • Collaborate with other units within the University to coordinate data maintenance efforts.
  • Maintain computerized and manual logs and files in accordance with established procedures.
  • Selectively apply a variety of procedures in measuring data, using judgment to determine how standard guidelines apply; may calibrate and use a variety of display, measuring, and/or calculating equipment requiring a few adjustments for proper results.
  • Maintain a variety of complex records; suggest or make improvements to record-keeping procedures.
  • Perform audits of own work or that of others to ensure conformance with established procedures.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, facilitator preparation, scribe meeting minutes, coordinate schedules.
  • Test new processes and system improvements.
  • Administer the Development Services email list (on a rotation basis), respond or create tickets for data issues.
  • Monitor ICA students' training and progress. Support youth development in a professional work environment.
  • Diagnostic work: understanding CARD users through review of frequently asked questions, update email requests/SNOW tickets and soliciting feedback.
  • Provide administrative support.* Other duties may also be assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Education & Experience:
    High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent and two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong clerical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize daily tasks assignments while meeting respective deadlines.
    • Advanced computer skills with the ability to multi-task with office software, applications and collaborative communication tools.
    • Ability to exercise judgment, responsiveness and employ basic reasoning skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.Certifications and Licenses:
      • Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity.
      • Occasionally use a telephone.

        Development Services works through the University winter closure at the end of the calendar year.The main work location for this position is Stanford University Redwood City campus. -The expected pay range for this position is $57,000 - $70,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.This position is Hybrid.
