Internal Application: Senior Full Stack Engineer - IMVU Engineering - Redwood City, CA - Full Time Job Description Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - IMVU Redwood City, CA IMVU is seeking a full stack software engineer to join our FIRE Team. As part of the FIRE team you are responsible for our main revenue stream. You get to work with payment systems, fraud systems, new features, and long-proven features. You enhance internal tools used by customer support, marketing, indirect sales teams, and other internal teams. You build new customer facing features that drive immediate customer delight. In short, you are ready to take on emergency fixes that take an hour, internal stakeholder features that take a week and projects that can take a few weeks. You are part of the engineering team that keeps our customers happy and our business running, and everyone loves you for it. This is why you have so much autonomy, because you know how to do the right thing. QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 5 years experience as a software engineer A firm grasp of Computer Science fundamentals including object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis Skilled at traversing existing code and deciding when to make short-term fixes and when to refactor a system Experience balancing short-term vs. long-term needs, business needs, customer needs, quality and time to market Willing and able to push back when appropriate to do the right thing by the customer and the business BONUS POINTS Experience working with a RESTful LAMP stack or Redis You are familiar with the HTTP protocol, particularly with respect to headers and caching rules You are knowledgeable in the general heuristics for cache-ability Familiar with Angular, Backbone, React, SASS, or other adjacent technologies You are a security expert Have worked with test driven development in the past, specifically integration tools such as Selenium, Jasmine, QUnit, or similar You've made contributions to open source projects (i.e. code we can review) You have experience integrating payment systems You have some basic DevOPS experience and you are not be afraid of diving into the CLI and shell to unblock yourself ABOUT US IMVU is the largest avatar social platform of over 7 million monthly active users who come together to chat and connect to build authentic human connections.
