Kelly Engineering, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a **Mechanical Engineering Technician** **,** for a long-term engagement at one of our Global Robotic Medical Device clients in **Red Wood City** **, CA. Shift hours are 2:30pm - 11:30pm Monday - Friday.** This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. The **Mechanical Engineering Technician** will work directly with a team of experienced engineering technicians and engineers to assist in capital equipment builds, equipment procurement duplication, and ongoing support for manufacturing equipment, ranging from hand tools custom fixtures to large capital equipment. We are seeking motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in complex mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes
**Key Job Responsibilities:**
+ Procure and duplicate equipment, fixtures, and tooling
+ Maintain manufacturing equipment including preventative maintenance, taking measurements, calibration, and documentation
+ Solve Production line issues related to equipment and perform complex repairs with limited guidance
+ Execute equipment validation protocols and reports (IQOQPQ)
+ Recommend equipment and tooling improvements to engineers based on operators' feedback and personal working experience
+ Identify and drive continuous improvements in equipment and manufacturing processes
+ Assemble equipment fixtures and use 3D printer to print replacement parts
+ Modify fixtures and tooling as needed
+ Work with engineers to support miscellaneous activities and projects
+ Coordinate with different teams and coworkers to accomplish tasks
**Requirements:**
+ Minimum High School Diploma required
+ 3 years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment
+ A little travel will be required, will need to be able to travel 50% domestic and 50% international to support contract manufacturing efforts
+ Experience working with & troubleshooting complex equipment, both in-house designed equipment and sourced equipment
+ Self-starter with a proven track record to engage in proactive learning and remain productive with minimal supervision
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ An empathic individual who engages in and facilitates a high level of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration as needed
+ Ability to keep a positive attitude in a stressful and dynamic environment
+ Must be highly organized with the ability to lead multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasks
+ Ability to travel locally between sites in Santa Clara and Redwood City up to 50%
**Preferred:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
+ Experience in medical device industry and intimate knowledge of quality systems
+ Experience using measurement tools such as multimeters, temperature probes, pin & ring gauges
+ Experience with machine shop equipment and tools
+ Experience with SAP
+ Experience with CERDAAQ
+ Experience with custom test software installation and troubleshooting
+ Maintenance or engineering experience within high-volume production line environment
