Job Description:

PROCEPT BioRobotics is a surgical robotics company enabling better patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. With an initial focus on BPH, the company's AquaBeam - Robotic System delivering Aquablation therapy, is the first FDA-cleared, automated surgical robot for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Aquablation therapy combines real-time, multi-dimensional imaging, automated robotics, and heat-free waterjet ablation for targeted, controlled, and immediate removal of prostate tissue. Aquablation therapy offers predictable and reproducible outcomes, independent of prostate anatomy, prostate size, or surgeon experience.


This position plays an important role with responsibility for direct and indirect purchasing. The Sr Manager, Supply Chain will
Manage supplier base and purchase materials and services to ensure continuity of supply and meet cost targets
Ensure appropriate flow of components and finished goods to internal and external customers
Conduct negotiations for all types of situations (i.e., cost analysis, supply agreements, last-time buys, etc.)
Facilitate technical discussions with suppliers and engineers

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Other Duties May Be Required As Assigned)
Lead Purchasing, Planning and Sourcing
Establish and achieve inventory targets for raw materials and purchased finished goods balancing the needs of supply continuity, inventory turns and Excess & Obsolescence (E&O)
Ensure timely identification of supply disruptions, communication of potential impact and driving resolution to minimize impact on the business
Execute regular Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to meet the demands for commercial distribution and internal requirements for training, testing and R&D.
Negotiate contracts with component suppliers, contract manufacturers and service providers.
Support identification and selection of new suppliers in support of new products, risk management and cost reduction
Establish a suite of key Process Indicators (KPI) to monitor the health of Sourcing, Purchasing and Planning
Develop and share dashboards that provide transparency on actual performance compared to targets for each KPI.
Set and achieve cost reduction goals.
Participate in Make vs. Buy analyses with a goal to ensure optimal scalability, total cost, focus and protection of Procept IP/know-how.
Support Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) activities
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while establishing expectations of high performance.
Participate in developing annual operating plans and multi-year strategic plans. Manage department to established budgets.
Build, coach and manage a high-performance team with a culture of continuous improvement
Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance
Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics EHS policy

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certifications)

BS Degree or equivalent combination of experience and training.
10+ years progressive experience in supply chain and materials management roles.
5-10 years of direct management experience in capital equipment and consumables manufacturing in the medical device industry or a similar regulated environment.
Extensive ERP and Supply Chain systems experience.
Proven leadership skills in building and managing teams with a history of world class success.
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with customers and internal employees.
Professional work ethic, high capacity, strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to operate independently.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the hiring, development of and performance management of Buyers and Planner and will be responsible for developing training plans and the setting of annual goals and objectives.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment.
The employee will occasionally be exposed to engineering labs, a machine shop, and manufacturing clean rooms.
The environment is subject to moderate noise from machinery (IE machine shop equipment, the PROCEPT Aquablation unit, computer equipment, printers, etc.), for which proper hearing protection may be assigned and worn.
COVID-I9 Vaccine Requirement: As of August 19, 2021, all PROCEPT BioRobotics employees must be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. The company will follow an accommodation process for medical or religious exemptions.
