Director of Agreements and Policies for Corporate and Foundation

Working in concert with volunteers and academic leaders, OOD staff

a role in providing the university's donors with the service and
attention that ensures an exceptionally positive and fulfilling
philanthropic experience.Reporting to the Assistant Vice President
and Senior Director of Planned Giving, the Director of Agreements
and Policies for Corporate and Foundation Giving will lead the team
that is responsible for the review, preparation and negotiation of
gift agreements with corporations and foundations for support of
Stanford University and Stanford Medicine, for the oversight of
diligence processes related to such gifts, and for the resolution
of questions and policy issues involving philanthropic support from
corporate and foundation donors and sponsors.In this role, you will
be strategic and creative in leading and setting the direction for
the team. You should have proven leadership and management
experience.The Director will work closely with Stanford faculty and
other university departments and offices within and outside the
Office of Development to resolve issues that arise in corporate and
foundation gift agreements, gathering input from a variety of
university sources to formulate a coordinated response.To be
successful in this role, you should have extensive experience in
reviewing and analyzing contracts and other agreements and
sophisticated legal drafting skills. You should possess excellent
interpersonal skills, employing a cooperative approach in working
with university constituents and corporate and foundation donors to
formalize gift agreements and contracts between Stanford and
corporate and foundation donors and resolve any related policy
questions. You will lead team members in efforts to coordinate
communications among these groups to build consensus.The Director
must have an ability to prioritize workload, make discerning
judgment calls and provide high-quality service in a fast-moving,
action-oriented, customer-focused, service environment. They must
be able to work both independently and with partner offices and on
teams; take initiative; and follow through on all assignments.
Superior attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
This position will work closely with the colleagues across campus,
including those in University Corporate and Foundation Relations,
the Office of Planned Giving, Medical Center Development, the
Research Management Group, the Office of Research Administration,
Industrial Contracts Office, the Office of Technology Licensing,
the Office of the General Counsel, various Dean's Offices, Conflict
of Interest, Continuing Medical Education, Communications, and the
Property Management Office.The work requires excellent verbal and
written communication skills that enable the Director to
communicate effectively and work skillfully with a wide range of
constituents - team members, faculty, staff, volunteers,
administrative leadership, as well as donors including industry
scientists and legal and business personnel. The work requires
maturity, patience, tact and keen judgment to handle sensitive
negotiations with all parties, taking into account Stanford
policies, interests and concerns.Your primary responsibilities
