About the Opportunity:
We are looking to hire a -LABORATORY MANAGER -to join our
-Facilities team -for our Redwood City, CA and San Carlos, CA
sites. -
The -Laboratory Manager -is responsible -for the daily operational
support of the Biotherapeutics and Performance Enzyme groups, with
oversight on various functions involving facilities coordination,
inventory management, and equipment management. The candidate will
collaborate closely with internal groups performing problem-solving
tasks and decision-making to provide laboratory excellence at
Codexis.

Excellent communication (oral and written), documentation,
organization, and interpersonal skills.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Manage procurement, receipt, and stocking of common consumables
supplies via site-wide Inventory Management, including chemical
inventory.
Monitor backorders and identify replacements for backorders by
working closely with Purchasing Group, vendors, and
researchers.
Manage annual calibration activities, scheduling with lab users and
partnering with internal and external resources for execution of
calibrations.
Serve as a point-of-contact for equipment upkeep including managing
service contracts, coordinating laboratory equipment maintenance
and service visits, tracking and maintaining equipment asset list,
and contacting OEMs for acute troubleshooting.
Lead efforts with lab and equipment relocation; may include both
coordination of internal and external resources.
Partner with EHS and R&D groups with lab waste and safety
management; - decontaminate and dispose of unwanted equipment.
Monitor and perform defrost procedures for freezers (e.g.
temperature monitoring, general maintenance, organization and
allocation of freezer space)
Serve as contact for after-hours on-call management.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's of Science or equivalent recognized qualification with 2
- 5 years of experience working in a laboratory environment and at
least 2 years of experience managing a laboratory.
Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment such as (pipettes,
freezers, incubators, centrifuges, plate readers, etc.) and
laboratory consumables (flasks, tips, tubes, etc.)
Ability to prioritize responsibilities, multi-task, think
critically, and work both independently and within teams in a
fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, your background and experience
should include: -
CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for
candidates who will work in Redwood City or San Carlos, CA is
$105,000 to $130,000. The final salary offered to a successful
candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but
are not limited to the type and length of experience within the
job, type and length of experience within the industry, education,
etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may
not reflect positions that work in other states---.
