a world-class Product Leader who shares our vision for a more

and externally. As a Senior Product Manager at Alation you will be
working to unlock the value of the data: help people to find,
understand, and trust data that they already have.In this role you
will define and execute Alation's customer-facing strategy for data
lineage, business lineage, metadata augmentation, impact analysis
and beyond. You'll also play a key role in talking with partners
and customers, as well as collaborating with engineering.What
you'll be doing:
- Perform market analysis in order to define strategic priorities
for your product
- Crisply articulate strategic direction and roadmap across many
stakeholders including external customers, sales, marketing,
customer success, engineering, and design.
- Be data-driven, creating and monitoring product and customer
value metrics to make objective prioritization decisions
- Take new features you envision from ideation / exploration with
customers to full launch and rollout, including marketing plan and
field enablement
- Build and maintain an effective and groomed backlog providing
clear requirements
- Work closely with engineering in the agile/scrum development
process, managing cross-team dependencies as neededYou should have:
- 5+ years of hands-on product management experience - both
outbound and inbound - in a fast-paced agile development
environment
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- A combination of deep technical knowledge and a
customer-focused mindset
- Engineering background or domain experience in one or more of
analytics, business intelligence, database/warehouse systems, data
transformation, data engineering, API design, SQL queries or
principles of schema design
- Self-starter with strong creative problem solving,
facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Have delivered user experiences that are empowering, delightful
and well-designed, preferably including data visualization
- Strong ability to discuss technical details with engineers &
product design while also clearly communicating at a high level
with leadership, sales marketing, and customersYou'll be a great
fit if:
- You have product management experience in the data management
space
- You have prior in-depth experience with data lineage, data
catalog, data quality or data exchange
- You have exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP),
and modern data stack tools like DBT, fivetran or airflow
- You're humble and thoughtful, but a vocal advocate for our
users and customers able to fight for the course of action that the
data and our values show is right
- You are able to excite others about your ideas
- You have a deeply analytical mindset, yet are able to combine
quantitative analysis and logic with a human touchBase Salary
Target: $137,037 - $185,000The base salary range is specific to the
United States. The salary of the final candidate selected for this
role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not
limited to internal equity, experience, education, work location,
specialty, and training. If the final candidate has a different
level of experience, the base salary target range may be lower or
