Job SummaryNetApp is seeking a Product Manager to join our
product management team. The ideal candidate will have successfully
managed Unified storage for block and file workloads, focusing on
midrange and entry systems. This role requires collaboration with
global R&D teams and reports to the Senior Director of Product
Management. The candidate will work closely with Product
leadership, Sales, TME, Procurement, Marketing, Engineering, and
Support teams to develop and execute a compelling product strategy
for one of the fastest-growing segments within NetApp's
portfolio.The ideal candidate has experience in creating strategic
product visions that position products as industry leaders, with a
background in both hardware and software storage solutions for SAN
and NAS environments. Strong business acumen and cross-functional
collaboration skills are essential. While the focus is on flash
storage, an understanding of other storage types is also
required.Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
- Provide business insights through analytics and market
research.
- Gather and evaluate market requirements via customer visits,
industry events, and analyst relationships.
- Collaborate with R&D to translate market needs into
innovative technologies.
- Influence cross-functional teams to bring products to market,
including cloud and on-premises solutions.
- Manage pricing strategies, working with supply chain and vendor
partners to optimize margins and costs.
- Prioritize product requirements for multiple release
phases.
- Resolve blockers independently and escalate major issues
proactively.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Sales for BETA testing
activities.
- Translate technical functionalities into business language.Job
RequirementsMinimum requirements:
- 8+ years in product management, with experience in hardware and
storage technology.
- Knowledge of storage protocols and architectures, including
FCP, iSCSI, NVMe, SMB, NFS, S3, SATA, SAS, RAID, and erasure
coding.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery
architectures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational
skills.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication
skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; MBA
preferred.Preferred requirements:
- Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Jira.
- Hands-on provisioning experience for storage devices.
- Deep knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, DPUs, PCIe, NVMe, SSDs.
- Ability to analyze and solve ambiguous problems with attention
to detail.Travel requirements: 15% to 25% travel
