Computational Clinical Scientist, Translational Medicine at Revolution Medicines Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway. In this role, you will work within our Translational Medicine group analyzing and interpreting clinical data. Analysis will focus on using genomic, (protein and other targeted assays to identify and validate predictive biomarkers. The computational clincal scientist will work on various projects in different phases of drug development and contribute to the cross-functional bioinformatics team which includes other bioinformaticians and data scientists. The Opportunity: As a Clinical Bioinformatician/Data Scientist in Translational Medicine, you will: Integrate multiple data sources including patient mutation and transcriptome profiling, and proteomic datasets to confirm and identify new biomarkers for candidate drugs. Develop and maintain internal bioinformatics pipelines and tools for clinical use. Design novel biomarker assays for target engagement and prediction of response. Support the development of biomarker related aspects of the trial design where bioinformatic analysis is required, including study protocols, lab manuals, clinical study reports, and other regulatory documents. Work with internal groups, contract research organizations and collaborators to deliver validated biomarker assays. Work with biomarker scientists to support analysis of biomarker readouts. Present bioinformatic outputs to internal stakeholders. Collaborate with preclinical bioinformaticians to design, analyze and interpret experiments to validate biomarkers, understand compound mechanism of action, and identify biomarkers for patient selection and target engagement. Required Experience, Skills, and Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in computational, statistical, biophysics, bioinformatics, or a related field with emphasis on biological data analysis. 2+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience in bioinformatics focused on oncology, immunology, or a related field. Proficiency and experience programming using Python and/or R. Experience with clinical trial data. Excellent scientific and business communication skills, strong interpersonal/collaboration skills and planning skills. Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment. Familiarity with high performance, containers, and cloud computing for data processing, analysis, and storage a plus. Experience using databases and data models preferred. Familiarity with large genomic data sets (GDC, TCGA, etc.) preferred. Experience in tools to analyze cancer genomics datasets (GATK, Salmon, OncoKB, VEP, etc.) a plus. Development experience in groups using IDE's, a ticketing system and software control systems (GIT) a plus. Expertise in bioinformatic analysis of cancer signaling pathways and driver mutations preferred. Familiarity with standard methods for bioinformatic data analysis and reference datasets for gene expression, mutations, and related platforms preferred. Revolution Medicines currently requires that all personnel and visitors to its offices be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
