Overview: The Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs will be
responsible for leading and directing the overall medical affairs
function for the company. This will include overseeing and
implementing strategies for addressing the medical affairs needs
and requirements necessary for all product development programs, as
the company prepares to launch products for commercialization. This
position will be a senior executive role that will ultimately be
responsible for developing medical affairs strategy for the
company's products and pipeline.
The Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs will lead efforts to
communicate with physicians and other health care professionals
with respect to all of the programs in development by Coherus. This
will include responsibility for the design creation and production
of training, publications and posters, developing strategy for
adverse events, establishing advisory boards and CME. Working with
all relevant internal and external groups including consultants,
key thought leaders, cross functional leaders, and the board of
directors.
The Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs will be responsible
for building and leading a best in class team of medical science
liaisons, and medical communications. This position will be
responsible for guiding the scientific positioning of the disease
and available treatments, publication planning, advisory boards,
investigator initiated studies and other projects involving key
opinion leaders. This role will serve as a core member of the
management team to ensure that medical affairs activities and
initiatives are aligned with those of commercial functions in a way
that achieves goals and respects/maintains compliance with the
company's policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: - Will participate as an active member of the
Senior Management team to ensure the strategy and vision of the
Medical Affairs function is in constant support of the strategic
development and vision of the company. - Will be responsible for
building, recruiting and developing a Medical Affairs department
that will support the commercialization of all programs in
development for the company. - Will function as a liaison to the
Clinical Development group in support of all clinical trials. -
Will ensure the coordination and review of technical, scientific
and medical information relevant to corporate products. - Will
serve as the key medical spokesperson regarding the company's
products to the medical community including practitioners,
hospitals, and other stakeholders. - Will be responsible for
providing any information requested by regulatory authorities for
all products approved. - Will work compliantly with the marketing
function to optimize publication strategy for all products in the
company's portfolio. - Will be responsible for developing an
adverse event strategy and protocol. - Will serve as the principal
medical consultant for legal, regulatory, operational and marketing
issues. - Will serve as the primary point of technical contact for
healthcare professionals seeking information and training about
company products
Qualifications: - The successful candidate will possess an M.D. and
it is highly desirable that they be board certified in oncology or
a related field to the portfolio of programs the company is
developing. - The successful candidate must have an ability to
interface seamlessly with colleagues, understand relevant business
needs, and integrate those needs into medical affairs strategies
and tactics that support the business while complying with internal
regulations and the companies code of conduct. - A strong track
record of developing successful relationships with key opinion
leaders and practitioners is essential, as is the ability to
interact with a broad range of external stakeholders. - A strong
ability to write scientific documents is essential. - The ability
to attract, recruit and develop a best in class Medical Affairs
function and team is essential. - At least 10 years of highly
relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience in a Medical Affairs
function and a clinical development function. - A track record and
experience base of working closely with clinical development and
other internal functions to support the development and
commercialization of a portfolio of Biologics - A strong
understanding of compliance and the ability to work with commercial
functions in a compliant manner.
The Base Salary Range for this position is $275,000 - $350,000.
Coherus considers various factors, including professional
background and work experience, when determining base pay. These
considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
Beginning July 19, 2021, Coherus BioSciences requires all new hires
