Job Description Job Description:Physician Assistant - Non-Surgical (PA-NS) provides medical evaluation and treatment of John Muir Medical Center patients in collaboration with and under the direction of the Supervising Physician. The PA-NS performs duties according to standardized procedures which have been developed collaboratively by John Muir Medical Center administration, medical staff, nursing, Supervising Physician, and other Advanced Practice Providers and approved by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Board. The PA-NS possesses preparation and skills in physical diagnosis, psycho-social assessment, and management of health and illness needs. The PA-NS assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients, provides information to patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and counseling. The PA-NS provides healthcare in a collegial relationship with physicians and surgeons to patients at John Muir Medical Center. The PA-NS does not perform invasive procedures or assist in surgery in the operating room. c.) Education: - Graduate of an Accredited School of Physician Assistant - Required Experience: - 2 years Healthcare – Experience in specialty - Preferred Certifications/Licensures: - PA Physician Assistant - PAB California Board of Physician Assistant Board - Required - CPA Certified Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants - Required - DEA Drug Enforcement Agency - US Dept of Justice - Drug Enforcement Administration - Required - BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required - ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association – OR – ATLS Advanced Trauma Life Support – American College of Surgeons - Preferred depending upon Surgical Specialty Work Shift:08.0 - 08:30 - 17:00 No Waive (United States of America) Pay Range: $95.76 - $143.64Hourly Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area. Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.
