Job Description:
Description POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include but are
not limited to: Coordination and management of the Medical Staff
Services office administrative duties. Maintenance of the Medical
Staff Bylaws, Rules, Regulations, Fair Hearing Plan and related
Policy and Procedures. Coordinates the Medical Executive Committee,
Fair Hearing, Health and Well Being, and Institutional review
proceedings. Coordinate, integration, and assessment of the
physician quality improvement program. Directs and supervises the
credentialing / privileging processes and system including
development of credential / privileging forms. Serves as an advisor
to the Medical Staff, Hospital Staff and Hospital Administration on
various subjects related to medical staff affairs . Produce
Department / Committee agendas, packets, minutes, follow up, and
develop a variety of correspondence. Develops a variety of reports.
An active member of the Staff Development Committee to assist in
coordination of Medical Staff continuing educational needs. Serves
on the Regulatory compliance team with working knowledge of TJC,
State and Federal standards as well as laws specifically related to
the Medical Staff office. Must be able to perform jobs in
operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations. This is a
non-union position. Details: (5 x 8s) - FTE 1.0 Qualifications

and duties required of the staff in the department. B. Possesses a
working knowledge of department related JCAHO, Title XXII, OSHA,
and professional organization standards, principles and techniques.
C. Demonstrates the ability to perform the procedures/technical
skills provided by the department. D. Maintains knowledge of
current hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and
protocols. E. Demonstrates the ability to appropriately utilize
departmental equipment and supplies. F. Demonstrates effective
leadership/management abilities. G. Meets and remains current with
hospital wide and departmental competencies. III. Budget &
Financial Management A. Participates in budget preparation and cost
control management. B. Assists with budget development. C. Solicits
physician and staff input on requested items. D. Keeps "cost
consciousness" alive with department staff. E. Controls the
departmental inventory of supplies. IV. Personnel Management A.
Supports department/hospital culture, goals, and management to
contribute to the organizational goals. B. Assists with clarifying
job roles and interview process. C. Assists with leading and
documenting unit meetings. D. Conducts, documents, and recommends
disciplinary action. E. Assists with the performance appraisal
process. F. Monitors and adjusts staffing levels on a continual
basis - addresses and corrects variances due to census/wpd. IV.

participates in departmental PI activities including committee
involvement, and assisting with formulating and monitoring PI
criteria and indicators. VI. Materials/Environment Management A.
Collaborates with Director to develop systems to receive,
inventory, maintain, and control area equipment and supplies B.
Assists with developing systems to control and monitor the
environment according to official regulations. C. Assists with
identifying and developing new service markets. D. Assists with
evaluating equipment and supply purchase needs/requests. E.
Monitors cost-effective use of materials and supplies. F.
Recommends ways to reduce inventory/costs. G. Monitors
documentation of care and established charge methodology. VII.
Coaching and Development A. Facilitates and coordinates
opportunities for staff to grow clinically/technically and
professionally. B. Assures orientation of and coaches immediate
subordinates. Gives feedback, critiques ideas, and helps problem
solve. C. Develops staff to recognize opportunities to improve
physical environment, materials, and aspects of organizational
