Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices is passionate about creating the future of digital surgery and expanding its robotics and digital solutions offerings across the entire portfolio, with multi-specialty, end-to-end solutions in orthopedics, endoluminal intervention and general surgery. This includes the MONARCH-- platform, a first-of-its-kind robotic technology indicated for bronchoscopic visualization of and access to patient airways for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the lung. POSITION OVERVIEW Johnson & Johnson Robotics & Digital Solutions is looking for Senior Software Engineer, Algorithms to join a team of hardworking researchers and software engineers who are solving some of the hardest problems in medicine today. We are looking for a software developer to work on our growing ecosystem of engineering and research tools that will enable new generations of platform capability. The right candidate should be an experienced software developer who enjoys working on tools and infrastructure and is interested in numerical algorithms. Good command of C++ and python are required as well as strong communication and presentation skills. You will have an opportunity to contribute projects from concept to release. You will engage researchers and developers to learn what they need and build outstanding tools to make them more efficient and effective in their day-to-day work. Your work will enable the team to design, build and service next-generation of medical device technology faster. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree + 5 years of developing production-grade software using C++ + 2 years of experience in developing applications using python and C++ + Strong capabilities with Linux development environment PREFERENCES + Strong background in object-oriented programming + Experience in the medical device industry + Proficiency with multi-threaded applications + Ability to conceptualize software tools based on customer needs + Familiarity with common design patterns + Experience building data access and visualization tools + Experience developing and implementing numerical (for example, computational geometry, mapping, machine learning, vision, robotic) algorithms This position is located in Redwood City, CA.
