Senior Software Product Manager (Customer Experience) Karius is a venture-backed life science startup focused on transforming the way infectious diseases are diagnosed. Position Summary:-- This role offers the opportunity to own the Karius Customer Experience across all digital platforms with a goal of creating an engaging, user-friendly, and effective experience for clinicians, patients, other users of the Karius Test, and internal Karius team members. This person will collaborate with other Product Managers, User Experience Design, Marketing, Engineering, and many other teams at Karius in order to create, maintain, and execute against a customer experience product roadmap that addresses clear user needs/business goals. You will also be a critical part of our virtual VOC organization and will actively participate in user experience research. Why Should You Join Us? You, as part of the Karius team, will be able to see how directly your work has a life-changing impact on people, and at scale. Reports to: Head of Software Product Management Location: Redwood City, CA or Remote (USA) Primary Responsibilities --- Own the software that powers the end-to-end user experience of the Karius Test, with the potential to have real impact on human lives, including but not limited to: Customer Onboarding/Management (Digital Institution and Digital User Account Management), Karius Test Report Viewing across all mediums (fax, PDF, web, mobile, EMR, etc), test requisition form (web, paper), customer engagement (push and pull)/community building/knowledge-base building, and very exciting additional emerging opportunities. --- Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams at Karius including User Experience Design, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Operations, and other PMs, to create and maintain a product roadmap that addresses clear business goals. --- Partner with User Experience Design, Engineering, and other teams as required to build, validate, and ship/launch products, features, and updates. --- Be the voice of the customer for all types of customers/users including patients. --- Comprehend the regulatory environment that Karius operates in and ensuring that all systems meet or exceed these external requirements. --- Create release notes, customer emails about new releases, and training materials for internal teams. You will get to see how much your work really matters. Travel: Up to 5% Physical Requirements Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office environment. Position Requirements --- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in a related field such as CS/EE/Physics/Biology/Medicine with a Master's or PhD Degree preferred. --- Minimum of 5 years of direct software product management experience that includes a strong user experience component with a clear, demonstrated ability to partner with user experience design, engineering, and other teams to successfully ship products and features (preference for candidates with web and mobile experience). --- Ability to translate and articulate complicated business problems into easily understood solutions and functional requirements. --- Experience with agile development, Jira, and Confluence. --- Proven leadership capabilities including strategy development, effective decision making, and the ability to drive results. --- Familiarity with user experience research, usability testing, and customer journey mapping. --- Experience building software with a strong data component that is utilized by clinicians and familiarity with the US healthcare system preferred but not required. --- Experience leading product strategy and building software in a regulated software environment (CLIA/HIPAA/CAP) preferred but not required. Personal Qualifications --- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. --- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and prioritize effectively. --- Ability to work independently and be a self-motivator. --- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and self-management skills. --- Ability to perform multiple tasks, proactively plan, adhere to timelines, and have a creative approach to problem solving. --- Has curiosity and is passionate about having an impact on patient's lives.
