Our client, a leading autonomous mobility organization, is seeking a dedicated Linux Administrator to join their dynamic team. As a Linux Administrator, you will be an integral part of the Endpoint Engineering department supporting the management and maintenance of large-scale Linux desktop environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to system management, aligning successfully with the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence. Job Title: Linux Administrator Location: Foster City, CA Pay Range: $75 per hour What's the Job? Perform Linux system installation, configuration, patching, and ongoing maintenance across physical and virtual desktops Implement and maintain SaltStack configurations to enforce system baselines and automate repeatable tasks Contribute to sprint-based engineering efforts focused on endpoint reliability, compliance, and lifecycle management Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across a large fleet of Linux systems Execute operational procedures for OS/software updates, re-imaging, and break/fix scenarios What's Needed? 6 years of experience supporting large-scale Linux desktop environments in production settings Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux, including imaging, patching, and support Proficient in configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible Experience writing scripts in Bash and/or Python to automate common system tasks Familiarity with sprint-based or agile project work and tools like Jira for task and incident tracking What's in it for me?
