Job Description Guardant Health is developing NGS (next
generation Sequencing) diagnostics and screening tests for Cancer.
The successful Senior Software Engineer In Test candidate will join
an interdisciplinary team developing high throughput screening
application for early cancer detection. The software includes
components for sample prep and liquid handling automation, test,
sample and user management as well Guardant Health developed
analytics and reporting component.
This individual will work with bioinformatics scientists, assay
developers, software engineers, UX designers, automation engineers
and project leaders to design, develop and drive delivering state
of the art automated test solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Analyze use cases, requirements and engineering design, define
test plans/strategy per software component and for the system as a
whole. Work with cross-functional team member to clarify
requirements and remove ambiguities.
· Identify software and/or system risks that should be mitigate
in software. Contribute to risks analysis and requirement
definitions to reduce risks.
· Design, develop and run automated test cases for individual
components as well as end-to-end integration testing.
· Manage, track and report progress independently. Work along
with team leads and the developer to resolve and close issues.
· Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and robust
execution of testing against agreed project milestones.
Provide coaching to other team members for designing test
strategies and test cases.
Prepare test summary results that may include statistical
analysis, and test coverage reports.
Conduct ad-hoc, exploratory testing, define fixtures,
simulations, scripts and staged data as needed to support the

· Assist with defining and implementing software quality
Qualifications · B.S or higher degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field. Equivalent industry
· 5+ years of hands-on testing experience, in Python (pytest),
Robot Framework, Cypress/Selenium, UFT (Formerly QTP), Telerik,
Postman, SOAPUI, Fiddler, and/or Firebug and/or similar test
· 2+ years hands on knowledge docker applications and CI tools
such as Jenkins. Proficient in Linux base environment and Bash
· Familiarity/good understanding of REST API interfaces.
Experience with Contact based testing is a plus.
· Understand web-based applications, user authentication and
data integrity testing.
· Hands-on knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL is preferred)
· Strong experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and testing
of custom, complex business applications.
· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and people
· Experience working in an Agile/Scrum-like environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience working in a regulated environment (CLIA, HIPAA,
SOX, and FDA) is a plus
· Working knowledge of bioinformatics and cancer biology is
