PROCEPT BioRobotics is a surgical robotics company enabling better patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. With an initial focus on BPH, the companys AquaBeam Robotic System delivering Aquablation therapy, is the first FDA-cleared, automated surgical robot for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Aquablation therapy combines real-time, multi-dimensional imaging, automated robotics and heat-free waterjet ablation for targeted, controlled, and immediate removal of prostate tissue. Aquablation therapy offers predictable and reproducible outcomes, independent of prostate anatomy, prostate size or surgeon experience.


SUMMARY

The Head of Sales Training is a newly created position that develops, plans and conducts sales, clinical and technical training for Aquablation Therapy products and/or services for sales representatives and distribution partners. The job requires designing training classes and training materials for the capital and clinical sales team. Conducts sales training needs assessments and analyzes employee training needs to determine requirements for new and experienced sales team development. Monitors and evaluates sales training programs, assesses results and implements enhancements as needed to ensure effectiveness of programs. The position is based in the home office of Redwood City, CA and reports to the VP of Global Marketing. The preferred candidate will be located in the San Francisco Bay area.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be required as assigned)
Develop and administer sales, clinical and technical training (both virtually and in-person) for sales force in order to meet corporate requirements. Maintain all course documentation, training plans and initiate training profiles for global sales representatives. Develop sales and product training seminars to provide differentiation and enhance professionalism. Create measurement and assessment tools to determine effectiveness and needed improvements. Manage Field Trainer program through regular meetings between new hires, Field Trainers, and sales leadership. Maintain new product introduction training courses and update existing product training course as necessary. Perform cost analysis of training methodologies (labor, equipment, travel, planning, development and materials). Work with Marketing to provide input for the development of competitive sales strategies. Work with Professional Education to provide input for the enhancement of technical skills training. Monitor training fulfillment and work with sales representatives and management to complete training requirements. Works in field to assess performance and provide feedback to marketing and sales to improve organizational strength Assesses competencies in selling, message delivery and compliance. Trained in adult learning techniques to drive current, engaging education across different areas of selling: these include: capital, disposables, economic, clinical, and across all buyer types from hospital surgeons, office and C-suite. Key leader in development training calendars, GSM, and other innovative training methods. Works closely with other internal sales and service training professionals when appropriate. Maintaining and expanding content within LMS systems to ensure online training content is available to both new and tenured sales representatives. Has capacity to develop on line training education portal for development of both internal and external customers ( reps and surgeons/physicians, etc.) Perform other related duties as required. Maintains trained status for, and complies with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance. Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality and EHS policies.
Requirements

BA/BS required, advanced degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in sales. Marketing experience preferred (1-2 years downstream) Global training experience preferred. Prior corporate/sales training experience with training in adult learning and execution, professional selling skills instructor certification 3 years experience in developing sales approaches to expand physician practices. Minimum 5 years of experience in the medical device, healthcare or life science Demonstrated experience spearheading strategies and initiatives from concept to implementation. Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with customers and internal Professional work ethic, high capacity, strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to operate independently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with surgeons in an operating room setting is preferred. Ability to travel up to 50% of the Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required with live case and animation video editing skills preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment.
The employee may occasionally be required to attend animal or cadaver labs and to manipulate models and/or organs for testing.
The employee will occasionally be exposed to clinical operating rooms, for which proper personal protection equipment will be assigned and worn.
