The Team:

The Customer Primacy team defines, drives, and coordinates our central strategy around customers - including the overall customer experience, integrated customer data, and measurable customer value. Customer Primacy consists of a small, full-stack team that works closely with all parts of the organization, from Marketing to Customer Success, to partner on initiatives and make Zuora a more customer-centric organization. Success is measured by helping the company increase NPS, decrease churn, and improve overall net retention.

Mission:

The Customer Strategist Intern will facilitate data-driven decision making at Zuora by assessing, improving, and analyzing internal and external data. This role will combine technical skills with business acumen to drive meaningful impact.

What you'll do and achieve:

Enhance sales targeting data model with the goal to increase pipeline generation, reduce sales cycle times, and increase win rates - Learn end-to-end subscription business processes and related functional domains - Understand the Zuora data model to develop ROI models - Design and implement business KPIs across using SQL - Analyze resulting KPIs and develop business cases to drive upsell GTM motion internally and externally Support development of go-to-market research, data, and analytics Prepare customer and market analyses Lead process improvement initiatives by collaborating with cross functional teams Support strategic initiatives through in-depth operational and financial modeling Hone your deep analytical thinking with respect to business analysis, customers, go-to-market strategy, and product strategy Gain experience in broad software operating functions, including product management, operational process optimization, sales execution, and go-to-market strategy

What you'll need to be successful:

Candidate for BS/BA in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field Interest in pursuing a career in business strategy, finance, sales, operations, or a related field Proficient with SQL (Presto preferred) Proficient with Microsoft Excel Organized, driven, and curious Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred but not required:

Experience with Python, R, and/or Minitab Experience with BI tools such as Tableau
