Head of Product Public Relations & Analyst Relations

Location of Role : Bay Area CA or any major West Coast metro area

Head of Product PR & AR (Director or Sr. Director level)

  • Role is responsible for product communication across the entire portfolio of offerings including DevOps, Security, Business Intelligence and Observability solutions
  • Reports to the Chief Brand and Communications Officer

What you will do:

  • Collaborates with executive and business unit leadership to develop communication strategies, positioning, messaging, and execution plans and tactics
  • Aligns communication strategy and messaging to company priorities and focus areas, category and product positioning, and communicates in a manner that builds brand reputation and relevance
  • Builds Sumo Logics relationships with industry influencers: online, print and broadcast media, and technology industry analysts
  • Collaborates and works peer-to-peer with leaders in category creation and relevance, brand marketing, event marketing, product/technology marketing, demand gen, digital marketing, field marketing and internal communications
  • Operates as a positive, company leader behaves and collaborates with Sumos core values in mind
  • Oversees global public relations agencies
  • Oversees headcount resource.

What we need from you:

  • Excellent executive influence skills
  • Strong positioning and messaging skills across corporate, product and technology segments
  • Ability to learn and understand Sumo Logics business, service and market category (cloud-native, real-time, machine data analytics; continuous intelligence)
  • Able to be conversant (writing and speaking) on Sumo Logics business strategy, technology differentiators, solution/service markets and multi-route to market delivery model, included ecosystem and partners
  • Strategic thinker able to connect the dots across objectives, opportunities and function needs
  • Being proactive and prepared in bringing a point-of-view to the table, debate when warranted, then align when the debate is over
  • Ability to bring people together and keep them on track to achieve common objectives or goals
  • Creative problem solving skills; flexible when the situation calls for it
  • Strong supporter of the Sumo Logic brand; act as brand steward/ambassador for consistency and compliance
  • Good sense of humor; easy to work with; able to focus/prioritize
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Google productivity apps


We are a cloud-native SaaS machine data analytics platform, solving complex monitoring problems for DevOps, SecOps and ITOps teams. Customers love our product because it allows them to easily monitor and optimize their mission critical, large scale applications.

At Sumo Logic, we are building a data platform designed to power the analytics and investigations that are common in the Security Operation Centers of large enterprises. It is designed to accept hundreds of billions of events from security-relevant data sources (detection products, network sensors, log shippers, inventory systems) per day. It is cloud-native, multi-tenant, and is designed to simultaneously process events from thousands of our customers. And, it is security-focused it is designed to perform the kinds of stateful analyses that security analysts demand.
