For more information, visit OverviewThe Principal Systems Engineer will guide and lead the systems development for the Monarch Platform. This individual will act as a mentor for junior engineers to drive forward the clinical performance of the robotic system. This person will require proven engineering problem-solving skills and structured analytical abilities. The candidate shall apply engineering, scientific, and clinical knowledge to lead in design control, new product development, and improvements to existing products. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic who are deeply motivated to impact patient's lives through advanced robotic technology!QualificationsKey Responsibilities:The successful candidate must have a strong technical background and a proven track record in developing and bringing to market highly complex robotic systems.Lead cross-functional teams to tie all aspects of the system together and meet program goalsServe as a liaison between clinical/marketing, program management, and the engineering design teamsProactively identify and mitigate technical development risksTranslate clinical and business needs to system requirementsGenerate use cases, trade studies, and risk assessments to facilitate systematic trade-off decisions and robust engineering solutionsDevelop test methods to accurately characterize, and verify the system design against performance requirementsGuide fellow systems engineers on the teamQualificationsBS/BA Degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical or any related engineering field required. Minimum of 10 years of experience working on robotics or other complex electromechanical systems.Proficiency with C++, Python, or Matlab is preferred.Strong proficiencies with at least one engineering filed, i.e., mechanical, electrical, software, robotics, or computer science ect. Experience in bringing products to market in a regulated industry such as Medical, Automobile, Aeronautics or Spatial.Highly organized and methodological, scientific approach.Outstanding communication and leadership skills.Ability to travel up to 10%, domestic and international, is requiredJohnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
