Job Description:
Oracle Database supports the most demanding mission-critical
customer requirements, operating at global scale to provide a
secure, distributed, multi-tenant data platform for structured as
well as unstructured data. The architectural patterns you develop
will be used by customers to build applications that require high
volume, high velocity and high variability data platforms. The
patterns will need to support data sovereignty/residency
requirements where a data element is required to stay within a
specific geographic boundary. As a member of the product
development team, you will understand customer & market
requirements, translate them to technical specification, do system
design, define the architecture, provide guidance to a team of
software developers to deliver the service. This is your
opportunity to be a core part of the team that defines and delivers
exciting new capabilities for Oracle---s flagship Database. We are
seeking a candidate with strong product architecture experience in
Big Data products or services. You will lead and coordinate efforts
between cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class
capabilities. You will work with Product Management, Product
Development, QA, Documentation, Support and at times directly with
customers, marketing and sales. The right candidate will possess a
strong Software Product Architect and Big Data Management
background, an ability to work backwards from customer requirements
and will have experience building multiple customer-facing products
and features. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an
entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or
competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop
and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up
your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. A customer-centric
mindset, maturity, intellectual curiosity, agile development
approach, pivot when needed, ability to hire and influence
analytical talent are essential to succeed in this role. Key
Responsibilities: -- Design the architectural patterns for cloud
native Big Data processing based on a Hyperscale Globally
Distributed Database -- Understand Big Data vertical market &
customer requirements and translate them into key constructs,
concepts, resource model, APIs, KPIs, key UI elements -- Inform the
control plane architecture for supporting use cases in the areas of
high availability, scalability, security, data privacy, encryption,
access control, lifecycle management, monitoring, diagnostics --
Create detailed technical specifications and develop working
prototypes -- Guide the product development team in the
implementation of architectural patterns -- Collaborate with PM,
QA, Docs, Support teams to iterate and improve service offering --
Participate in customer events and key sales/marketing initiatives
-- Define, measure and manage customer experience metrics for
stakeholders -- Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues
that may dent team---s ability to execute Minimum Qualifications:
-- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related
discipline -- 5 years experience with large scale cloud deployments
-- Experience with Big Data management architectures & principals
such as Information Life-Cycle Management (ILM) and Object Stores
-- Experience with Big Data platforms and associated technologies
such as Vertica, Hadoop, Snowflake & SOLR -- Experience with data
replication algorithms & architecture -- Experience with relational
and NoSQL databases -- Experience with Massively Distributed
Parallel Processing systems -- Very good understanding of Big Data
platform market, competition and industry trends -- Attention to
detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities
simultaneously -- Ability to think both strategically and
tactically in a high-energy, fast paced environment Preferred
Qualifications: -- Experience in Internet scale applications --
Experience deploying Oracle Data Replication technologies such as
Data Guard, Golden Gate and Replicated Materialized Join Views --
Experience with Massively Parallel Processing systems
