Position Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated research associate to support the
development of high-throughput screening assays for AAV
engineering. As part of the Technology Innovation group, you will
work together in a small team environment to design, build, and
optimize high-throughput in vitro and in vivo screening assays to
evaluate properties of novel AAV constructs. You will obtain a
strong foundation in assay development, become familiar with
cutting-edge instrumentation for molecular and cellular analysis,
and work collaboratively with high-throughput NGS data. This is a
unique opportunity to gain broad experience in a startup
environment and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the development of high-throughput screening assays by
performing activities that include cell culture, AAV vector
purification, cell transfection and transduction, tissue
processing, fluorescence microscopy, cell sorting, and/or NGS
library prep
Assist in the design and execution of studies in a variety of in
vitro and in vivo model systems
Collaborate with the team to interpret and present data
Effectively communicate internally through meetings, presentations,
and publication efforts
Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records
Perform laboratory management tasks which may include supply and
inventory management, cell line management, EH&S, and/or
equipment maintenance (15% time
Requirements and Qualifications:
BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, virology, or a
related field (3+ years of industry experience for senior level) or
MS (2+ years of industry experience for senior level)
Experience with methods in molecular biology including cloning,
PCR/qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction
Experience with methods in cell biology including mammalian cell
culture, manipulation (transfection, differentiation) and
characterization (microscopy, flow sorting)
Familiarity with complex cloning procedures for high-diversity
variant libraries, vector production, NGs library preparation,
and/or tissue processing a plus
Attention to detail and ability to conduct sensitive protocols
consistently
Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to work
cross-functionally
Ability to maintain accurate and organized documentation of lab
work and results
