Job Description:
Adverum is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist (Contract)
to join our team in our Redwood City office.The Desktop Support
Specialist will be working with Adverum personnel across all
departments and with some vendors. This role is responsible for
providing an outstanding IT experience for our customers by acting
as a point of contact for resolving IT related issues and requests.
Responsibilities include provisioning, installing, troubleshooting,
repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software within
the Adverum computing environment.This is a contract role - 6
months to startWhat you'll do:Migrate users from on-prem AD to
Azure AD, including 1) following a defined process to configure
laptops, and 2) working with end-users to migrate apps and data
specific to the user (Windows 10, Office 365, Active Directory,
Azure AD, VPN)Follow laptop decommission process to e-waste or
reconfigure laptops for deploymentProvide technical guidance in
easy-to-understand, non-technical terms to users of all skill
levels. Follow defined processes to install, configure, and
administer IT systems - primarily Windows. Able to work with remote
and onsite users (remote control tools like LogMeIn., Zoom)Able to
provide a high level of service with clear communication with
end-users and IT colleaguesAble to schedule users to find time to
conduct migrations (Outlook)Provide regular status on progress and
issuesBuild computer systems, Install the software, hardware, and
peripheral components.Write procedural and end-user Knowledge
Articles. About you:A passion for customer service, including the
ability to listen, interpret and explain computer and other
technical concepts in non-technical terms Deep experience with
Microsoft Windows, Office (MS)365, AzureAD, and Active Directory
(Okta SSO, OneDrive, Teams, Sharepoint, Zoom a plus)Strong
communications skills including the ability to write user
documentationSteady under pressure with the ability to handle
delicate and urgent situations with users of all levelsAdept at
troubleshooting computer-related issues in Windows Experience
supporting remote users Hands-on experience with computer utilities
and security tools, such as, anti-virus, malware removal, and
update toolsExperience working with users of all levels and
technical abilities, including VIP supportExperience in the
pharma/biotech area a plusCertifications in A+, Microsoft, ITSM,
