heart transplantation, and digital music.JOB PURPOSEStanford's
Office of Research Administration (ORA) and Industrial Contracts
Office (ICO) have joined forces to create a unique team of Contract
Officers focused on specialized research-related agreements. This
Contract Officer position will work primarily on data use
agreements. The Contract Officers within ORA and ICO have delegated
signing authority on behalf of the University to review and
negotiate a full array of agreements and enable Stanford research
by negotiating mutually beneficial agreements with external
collaborators that preserve academic freedom and scientific
integrity. ORA and ICO are looking for Contract Officers who
approach learning and problem solving with enthusiasm, who are
organized and focused to manage a significant workload, who adapt
easily to changing situations and views new opportunities as
creative challenges.The Office of Research Administration manages
the administrative processes related to the entire lifecycle of
sponsored research from proposal submission and award negotiation
through financial reporting and award closeout as well as a broad
spectrum of research related agreements. ORA submits over 5,000 new
proposals annually and manages more than 7,700 active sponsored
projects with a total budget exceeding $1.9 billion.The Industrial
Contracts Office is part of Stanford University's Office of
Technology Licensing (OTL), which evaluates, markets, and licenses
technology owned by the University. ICO negotiates and signs
sponsored research and other research-related agreements with
industry. In addition, ICO handles all University material transfer
agreements and works closely with OTL on intellectual property
terms for all research agreements. ICO ensures ensuing Stanford
technology is developed to its full potential to serve the public
interest.CORE DUTIES*
