Contract Animal Care Technician, Tumor Immunology The Position: Bolt Biotherapeutics has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Animal Care Technician to join our dynamic in vivo team. This individual will be responsible for performing daily health observations, collecting in vivo data, and other duties related to the maintenance of experimental animals. Strong candidates will be collaborative, motivated, and eager to gain more experience in the field of Laboratory Animal Science. Technical expertise in animal handling and familiarity with xenograft and syngeneic in vivo models are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities:Perform husbandry tasks including daily health checks, cage changes, and room sanitation according to SOPsMonitors environmental parameters and condition of the animal rooms, equipment and proper functioning of mechanical systems in assigned areas dailyMaintain an organized and clean work environment that pertains to animal rooms but also includes procedure rooms, anterooms, and storage areasAssist with ear tagging in shaving to prepare mice for enrolling in a studyMay assist with handling, restraining, weighing animals, and various techniques as directed and under the supervision of the vivarium managerAccurately completes room logs and records on a prescribed scheduleParticipates in training and education programs as requiredThis is a research position that requires working in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals.Protective clothing, gloves and safety glasses are required while working in the lab. This position requiresthe ability to lift containers or instruments (up to 50 pounds) and work standing at a Biosafety Cabinet or lab bench for extended periods.Job Requirements include:Bachelor's degree in biology or related field with 1+ years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and up to 3 years of experience in a similar role requiredAALAS certification is a plus (ALAT, LAT, LATg)Previous experience in a vivarium and animal handling is preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently andcollaboratively in a fast-paced research environmentOrganized and disciplined about record keeping, with proficiency in Microsoft OfficeAvailability to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidaysWho We Are:Bolt Biotherapeutics, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing Boltbody-- --- - --- - ISACs, a new class of immuno-oncology therapeutics that have eliminated tumors following systemic administration in preclinical studies while also developing immunological memory, which may lead to more durable clinical responses for patients.
