Great pay with excellent benefits too!Why join us?You will join a team of experienced Estimators that is looking for a Senior / experienced Estimator to bring the ability to lead and mentor other Estimators with the collaboration of the Chief Estimator.Job DetailsJob Details:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator to join our thriving engineering team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the financial planning of our construction projects, ensuring we deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions to our clients. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in civil engineering, cost estimation, and project bidding, particularly within the public works sector. Responsibilities:As a Permanent Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for various public works construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other associated costs.2. Evaluating and analyzing project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements.3. Participating in project bidding processes, preparing and submitting competitive bids.4. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop project schedules and work plans.5. Conducting risk analysis to identify potential challenges and develop contingency plans.6. Regularly reviewing and updating cost estimates, taking into account changes in materials, labor costs, and market conditions.7. Providing advice and making recommendations to project managers and stakeholders about cost-saving or efficiency-improving strategies.8. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.9. Participating in meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders as required.Qualifications:To be considered for the Permanent Estimator position, you must possess the following:1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent experience2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on public works projects.3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.4. Proficiency in cost estimation software and relevant computer applications.5. Excellent numerical skills and ability to develop detailed, accurate estimates.6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate project plans and specifications and identify potential issues or challenges.7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain estimates and related information to non-technical stakeholders.8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.9. Professional certification as a Construction Estimator or similar would be an advantage.
