Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant

procedures such as oxygen therapy, total parenteral nutrition, and
blood transfusions, our critical care nurses play a vital role in
our patients' well-being.--About the job:--Our teams--play a
crucial role in assisting with the care and treatment of critically
ill or injured animals.--Key Responsibilities:Triage and admit
emergency casesProvide nursing care to critically ill or injured
patients, ensuring consistent evaluation and monitoringDemonstrate
proficiency in advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate
infusions (CRIs)Perform in-house laboratory proceduresSkillfully
place intravenous (IV) cathetersConduct accurate and detailed
patient roundsSafely restrain fractious and frightened
patientsObtain temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR)
measurements and maintain medical recordsRecognize situations
requiring immediate attention from a veterinarianAct as an advocate
for both the patient and client--Basic Requirements:High school
diploma2+ years of clinical experience--in the veterinary industry
as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or--3 consecutive
years of Veterinary Assistant--experience in an Emergency
Room/Critical Care Unit (ER/CCU) settingStrong interpersonal skills
and ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients,
demonstrating tact, patience, and professional courtesy while
maintaining confidentiality and discretionProficiency in
mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices,
estimates, and other related calculationsHold or obtain the
California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP)
within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role (waived if a valid
CA-RVT license is held)Work Schedule:Full-time position4/10
scheduleFlexibility required, including some holidaysCompensation
and Benefits:$25.00 - $40.00 hourly plus shift
differentials.Monthly in-house RACE-approved courses and staff
